Tina Vero - In the Waiting (Handmade Muse Records)

I get dozens of female singer/songwriter albums to review, so what does it take to make an album stand out from it's peers? That 'it' is not something easily explained, but listening to Tina Vero's album pretty much explains it all. The first song on the album, 'Live with the Demon', had me hooked from the beginning. A handful of songs on this CD are just Tina and her guitar, and those are some of the most affecting songs, though the one with accompaniment are wonderful as well. 'Do You Wanna Go Home?', the next song, is a haunting acoustic rock song with a celtic feel to it. It's really hard to pick one song on here for airplay, but personally, I do go with 'Live with the Demon', just because it grabbed me first. I can imagine Tina would be wonderful to see live.
